Chilean Economic Minister Praised For Handling Of Crisis

Andres Velasco was praised by Bloomberg recently for his handling of the Chilean economy over the last three years. The government, despite public criticism at the time, prudently saved over us$40 billion whilst copper prices were high and is using the funds to stimulate the economy after the recent world financial crash. This is in sharp contrast to Chile's neighbour, Argentina.
